Staying true to our principles of sustainable pasture raised livestock, the “just weaned” pigs are placed in either an electric fenced enclosure, or a portable fenced area, depending on the temperment of the pigs we have acquired.
They are able to express their “pigness” by grazing, running, playing or stretched out in the shade for a snooze. The natural, healthy environment makes for better tasting and more nutrious pork than the standard 'cage raised' alternative on the main stream market. They are also given some additional grain to supplement their primarily grass diet.
Individual pork pieces are only sold, if available, after bulk orders have been filled. We offer standard cuts - shoulder roasts, chops, steaks, ground, ribs, as well as hams (cured the old-fashioned way). The pork is so tasty. There is no 'barn-raised' after taste. The flavour is so pure and clean. We love it.
The ham is the hind leg, lean with robust flavor and texture.
